Repair scratched DVD / CD kits

I’ve bought no less than 2 of these kits – and in short they put more scratches on the disc!

Before you accuse me of not using them properly, I was very careful to follow the instructions and well lubricate the disc.

So avoid, at all costs – the SkipDr tool also left marks on my discs so cheap or expensive, they are bad!

Dodgy chinese batteries

Bought a laptop battery last year for my Asus.

It was cheap – about £40.  And it came from China.

When it arrived, it looked perfect – Acer stickers and identical so it seemed to my original.

Upon charging it never went to a green ‘fully charge’ like my original Asus battery.

Later comparisons shows it holds around 1 hour of charge compared to 2 hours of my original battery.

And yes you can find these batteries on ebay.

Cheap alloy wheels on ebay

Ebay is littered with cheap alloy wheels of dubious makes.

But bear in mind if the wheel cracks or breaks, you will most probably die.

And we have to be very aware of Chinese products being inferior (like the pet food that killed pets in America).

You may wonder why German and Japanese wheels are so expensive – because they are in fact put through stringent tests to receive TUV certs etc.

So be aware of these facts before purchasing….and check where your brand of wheels comes from.  Wheels DO break.

Ebay users…the dumbest and the most stupid internet shoppers out there…

Yes ebay attracts all sorts but mostly dummys.  In droves.

When you say ‘post only’ – they buy then want to collect, then go in a strop when you won’t meet them in a deserted carpark to give them a 20 quid item.

Then there’s the ones who don’t email you but just reverse the charges at Paypal or leave negative feedback – without consultation.

And finally there’s the fannies who give you the ‘I’ve got trouble with my paypal account’ and take weeks to pay then give up.

The Rules of eBay combat

So you’ve got an item you want to sell…..or various items.

First of all, check the search to see if similar items are available.  Check the hit counters to see how much demand there is.

See what they sell for, if they sell.

Now you have EXPECTED DEMAND and GUIDE PRICE for selling.

You must remember these two factors.  If you over-estimate EXPECTED DEMAND, you will need to re-list and it will cut your profit down.

GUIDE PRICE is essential – ebay users are looking for a bargain, so you must be the cheapest for that particular product.

Make sure you ebay account has positive feedback.  If not, just buy 10 items for £1 each to get some feedback.

Setup a Paypal account to do the above and take payment.

List your product clearly and spell check it.  1 picture is generally sufficient unless expensive item.  If it’s expensive, use multi pictures for sure.

Give links to manufacturers website, quote RRP price and highlight the item is ‘perfect’ condition, which I assume it is.

Check ebay daily for messages and reply to emails.

A simple formula, but without the above, you will have no success selling on ebay.
